Religious schools = child abuse!
Pictures like the above look so cute dont they? Little children at their religious schools, all dressed neatly in their uniforms perfect examples of how a multi-cultural society nurtures its religious diversity.

Well, actually, no. The SMART reaction to the above pictures is one of abhorrence. We believe these pictures show the result of a continuous cycle of abuse where brainwashed adults indoctrinate children who in turn grow up and inflict the same abuse on the next generation!

It would be impractical to try to stop this abuse by targeting parents. As a testament to the effectiveness of the brainwashing they received when they were children, their minds are now closed to all reason and logic. But in the school system of a civilised society why is any form of indoctrination of children tolerated?

The following paragraph is authored by Hussein Abdulwaheed Amin, (founding publisher and editor of www.islamfortoday.com) writing about Moslem schools in England. It should send a chill down the spine of any parent who is not a brainwashed Muslim.

At state, secular or church schools in the West today Muslim children do not receive a proper grounding in knowledge of Islam. Moreover, both in the classroom and in the playground they are often exposed to ideas, influences and behaviour which can both pressurize and tempt them away from the straight path of Islam and its moral code. Thankfully, as Muslim communities expand through immigration and the conversion of westerners, Islamic schools are being set up to cater for the educational and spiritual needs of our young people. Where possible we should do all we can to strengthen and support these establishments. Muslim schools are good for our community and our children

Firstly, there are no such things as Muslim children. Just as there are no, Conservative, or Socalist, or even Environment activist children. But there are children of Muslim parents. This is a crucial distinction and goes to the heart of this issue.

Amin complains that in non-Muslim schools these children do not receive a proper grounding in knowledge of Islam. But by proper of course he means being taught that Islam is the one true religion and that all others are false!

He is correct though in saying that in non-Muslim schools these children of Muslim parents, are often exposed to ideas, influences and behaviour which can both pressurize and tempt them away from the straight path of Islam. Oh dear, what a terrible thought, that your efforts to indoctrinate might be subverted by "ideas"! And what about a school playing its part in creating, community cohesion (a term favoured by British Lord Baker). If you were genuinely trying to assimilate into your adopted country, why would you try to keep children in your charge isolated from any influences of the indigenous children?

Amin is thankful that Muslim communities are expanding, converting westerners and setting up Islamic schools to cater to the educational and spiritual needs of their young people.

The only need here is the need of this particular religion to perpetuate itself by infecting naive young minds that aren't yet able to resist indoctrination.

It would be unfair to single out the Muslim religion in this matter - the raison d'etre of all religious faith-based schools is to indoctrinate rather than to educate! This is not to deny that some of them have fine academic records, but those achievements are a by-product, window dressing, all part of the sales pitch to bedazzle parents into signing up their children for what may be years of insidious brainwashing!

And what is the end result of allowing these schools to exist?

Graduating from Jewish schools come indoctrinated Jews, convinced that their religion is the one true one and that all others are false.

Graduating from Muslim schools come indoctrinated Muslims, convinced that their religion is the one true one and that all others are false.

Graduating from Catholic schools come indoctrinated Catholics...

etc. etc. etc..

Of course, as these young adults grow and become exposed to the realities of life, many will renounce their faith but tragically, many more will be unable to recover from the indoctrination they received as children. They will live one dimensional lives, blindly following the diktats of their particular religion, diktats that were deliberately programmed into vulnerable, impressionable, naïve young minds!

As our civilisation evolves and advances, ideas and practices that once seemed perfectly normal now make us wince. Within the past 50 years one needs only to consider attitudes towards racial discrimination, homosexuality, the equality of women, and even cigarette smoking to realise how much we have changed. Let us now add one more item to that list: the mental abuse that religious schools inflict on children.

Let us compel all schools to strive to produce young adults who are free thinking and knowledgeable about all of the world's major religions including how their beliefs conflict with science. And perhaps most important of all, lets teach children how to have a healthy scepticism of any institution that would attempt to brainwash them.

For the future well-being of our civilised society we need to ensure that all religions keep their hands off our children (literally and figuratively) and that they make their sales pitch to adults only.
